Trust

Hello All! Today's proof comes in the form of trust! I arrived at the recovery meeting I frequent for our weekly men's meeting. I sat down and a close friend sat next to me and he was perusing some literature and after a while I asked if he had found a topic for us. He told me hadn't thought about it. So in the vain of God calling the shot I told him to flip quickly through it and when I place my finger whatever page it stops on that is the topic. We did it and he read it and asked if I thought the promises or the tenth step which is all about continuing! I told him myself and those in my car were talking about the tenth on the way in so that must mean we are to go with that! I told him I would chair if he introduced the topic! I then noticed a young man sitting on the wall whom we hadn't seen in some time! I asked how he was and he said not good. I asked if he needed to reestablish he said no. I asked life getting you because you hadn't been around recovery and he confirmed that to be true. I started the meeting then my friend presented the topic and I called on an old timer to start the meeting off in the right direction. I then called on a sponsee who had an issue come up with his wife and then the next person shared about an issue with his wife and then the next one did as well. At this time I called on the young man on the wall and as it turned out his first words were, "this meeting is exactly what I am here for." He shared he hid something significant from his wife and she was very hurt and it got bad quickly between them. The rest of the meeting was all about why we must continue to work this program and never take breaks like he had and at the end he asked a good friend of mine to sponsor him. He hasn't had a sponsor in years and the friend he asked shared about his ex during the meeting so the young mad identified. So we talked about that step in the car we randomly flipped through the main book andi stuck my finger on the exact page and a young man who hadn't been in a year comes in and the topic was exactly what he needed to hear from a bunch of grown men who didn't pull any punches with him which in turn got him reinvested in the program. You can call that coincidence after coincidence but my faith says we TRUSTED and God responded like he does right here and right now! God bless you ALL!
